Non-Executive Director

John Whiter is a Chartered Accountant. Previously Chief Financial Officer of Benfield Group, John was a instrumental in the development of the business into the world’s leading independent reinsurance and insurance intermediary, as well as overseeing its listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2003 and its successful sale to Aon Corporation in 2008. 

Prior to joining Benfield in 1994, he was London Senior Partner of Lloyd’s specialist auditor Neville Russell (now Mazars).  He joined the Board of Cooper Gay (Holdings) Ltd as Non-Executive Director in July 2009.

John was appointed as Non Executive Director of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd in 2010, on completion of the combined Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford group.
